Due to the continued rapid growth in Europe, Penn Color will double its capacity to manufacture color and additive masterbatches for the thermoplastic industry at its Venray, Netherlands location. In order to accommodate the new equipment, Penn Color will expand the Venray facility by an additional 2000 m2 (21,500 ft2). The building expansion is scheduled for completion in October 2015 with the new equipment fully operational soon thereafter.

This development will broaden Penn Color’s ability to supply a wide range of colorants in both solid and liquid formats as-well-as the capability to produce its expanding functional additive masterbatch line.

This is the second expansion at the Penn Color International B.V. facility in the last 5 years coming on the heels of a major investment in 2010 that included, 4 compounding lines, application research & development equipment and production/warehouse space. The initial activities have allowed Penn Color to take a leading role in the colorant and additive business in Europe to complement its similar position in the American market. The addition of this capacity and capability will strengthen Penn Color’s ability to support the continuing globalization of the plastics industry, and in particular the plastic packaging market.
 
Additional investments in both manpower and equipment are also underway to support this new expansion, including a high output, state of the art twin screw extrusion line with multiple raw material blending and feeding options for maximum formulation flexibility. 
 
Penn Color also announced recently, further expansions in both the Milton, Wisconsin (USA) and at its largest facility in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (USA). Penn Color is also actively pursuing additional acquisitions and expansions in Central and South America, India, China, and throughout all of Europe.
